Denmark's Thomas Bjorn has claimed his 11th European Tour title after cruising to a four-stroke victory in the Qatar Masters in Doha on Sunday.
The 39-year-old, who was one of Colin Montgomerie's assistants in Europe's victorious Ryder Cup victory at Celtic Manor last year, carded a final round three-under 69 for a 72-hole total of 274 (-14).
Bjorn, who was winning in the Middle Eastern desert for the second time following his famous Dubai Desert Classic success over Tiger Woods in 2001, led after the third round and never looked likely to relinquish his advantage in a steady final day performance that saw him par the first 14 holes before birdies at 15, 16 and 18.
Course specialist Alvaro Quiros of Spain continued his remarkable record in Doha by heading home the chasing pack.
Quiros won this event in 2009 and finished second to Robert Karlsson 12 months ago.
And he suffered the heartbreak of a second successive runners-up position after posting a final round 68.
Austrian Markus Brier, who was one shot behind Bjorn on Saturday, faded to finish joint third with another Spaniard, Rafael Cabrera-Bello, following his final round 73.
Meanwhile, little-known American Tommy Gainey holds a one-stroke lead after the second round of the frost-disrupted Phoenix Open.
Gainey, who is seeking his first PGA Tour success, carded a six-under-par 65 for a 14-under-par 36-hole total of 128.
